From one of my favorite sites on earth, the brilliant, “What’s cooking Grandma?”, is Grandma Jackie’s famous video scone recipe. Jackie who, aside from being a grandmother to 13 kids, works at Casey’s Cozy Corner in The Assembly Rooms in Lancaster, England. She’s also a wee-bit feisty if you listen to what she catches herself saying in the video. ;-) I also love how the patron in the dining room is waiting eagerly for his fresh from the oven scones in this video! Also, novice bakers, notice it takes her less than 5 minutes to actually make these at home, she doesn’t use a mixer and her kitchen is super-tiny. You don’t need tons of room to be a great baker! Enjoy the video… Here is the recipe courtesy of “What’s Cooking Grandma?” Makes six big scones 3lb Plain Flour 10oz Margarine 3oz Baking power 12oz Caster sugar 9oz Fruit 1 1/2 pts Milk 2 Eggs Salt Now, let’s get to bakin’!TM Check it out!

Even if Paula Deen didn’t remind me immensely of my mother who is, of course, a better cook (right, Mom!), I’d still add her in here as our first baking video presenter, if you will. Even if you’re not from the South, there’s something about watching an episode of Paula’s show on Food Network that can turn even the most wanderlust individual into a mushy, hunkerin’ for home momma’s boy or girl in no time. Um. Thanks Paula. In this episode Paula takes us into her kitchen for a little how-to on her famous Chocolate Gooey Butter Cookies. Since we’re all one big family here. . .if you’ve made this recipe before, let us know how it turned out! And, if you’re really up to it, you can post your pictures in The Baker and the Stagiere Flickr group and publish ’em for the world to see! Now, let’s get to bakin’!TM Check it out!
